March 14, 2013, CHICAGO, IL – Killerspin, a Chicago-based firm producing high quality premium quality table tennis equipment, apparel, events and media, has named Kenneth Valdiserri as its new VP/Marketing & Strategic Alliances. The announcement
was made by Robert Blackwell Jr., CEO of Killerspin.

In his new role, Valdiserri will be responsible for Killerspin’s business
development, strategic marketing and public relations efforts, as well as
creating television opportunities and spearheading sponsorship sales for the
2013 Chicago International Table Tennis Festival and all Killerspin World Tour events.

With more than 20 years of experience, Valdiserri has been widely recognized for catapulting professional sports, recruiting and fitness brands to new levels via comprehensive marketing, sales, brand management, media relations, and corporate sponsorship.  In all of his previous endeavors, Valdiserri has proven his ability to consistently exceed revenue goals and forecasts; offering big-picture vision, incisive leadership, and strategic direction to launch new products, penetrate lucrative markets, and drive substantial revenue growth.

“Killerspin has made great strides from bringing table tennis out of the basement and into the mainstream. Killerspin is a luxury brand offering high quality tables, products and media content.  Now, there is much more to do to make the sport widely accepted in schools, corporations and other business and social environments,” said Valdiserri.  “There are many great forums and opportunities for Killerspin to showcase its’ Olympian
and amateur athletes, as well as the overall brand in efforts to further
penetrate the audiences with which we target.”

Prior to joining Killerspin, Valdiserri had been consulting for a wide variety of
businesses to help improve their marketing efforts.  He also served as President of the Arena Football League’s Chicago Rush prior to the team being taken over by the league
due to lack of ownership financing. Valdiserri served as Vice President of Sports Performance and Public Relations at Power Plate from 2008- 2009. “Over the years, Ken has a proven track record and personality which has ingratiated himself to large corporate contacts and alliances with every organization he has represented.  Killerspin is growing at such a fast pace that we want to dedicate resources to this part of our operations,” said Blackwell.  “Ken  has the background and credentials to make Killerspin more top-of-mind and has already initiated a number of programs which is providing our brand more exposure.”

Valdiserri is best known for his work with the National Football League’s Chicago Bears, where he was a well-respected front office executive who supervised a team of six in marketing, branding and corporate sales. His efforts resulted in substantial growth increase in revenues over an eleven year period where he laid the foundation for many of the current broadcast, marketing and community efforts which the team has maintained since his departure.  He than became the first General Manager hired by Vince McMahon and NBC for the now defunct XFL. While at the Bears, hewas the coordinating producer for the 1985 Chicago Bears ‘Super Bowl Shuffle’, the video which sold more copies than any other team video in professional sports.
