Ken‘s tenure with the Chicago Bears afforded him the unique opportunity of travelling the abroad as the Bears, under Mike Ditka‘s leadership, led the NFL in merchandise sales, high television ratings and a global following after the team captured Super Bowl XX in 1985. The Bears were one of the first NFL teams to travel abroad in August of 1986 when they played the Dallas Cowboys at Wembley Stadium in London.

This experience followed additional trips to Goteborg, Sweden in 1988, where Ken met and later married his current wife Annika, a Sweden native. The Bears played the Minnesota Vikings in August, 1988 where Volvo became the title sponsor of the game which was played at Ullevi Stadium located in the heart of Goteborg city. Ken was the team‘s liason not only with Volvo but, with SAS airlines and McDonalds of Scandinavia. The trip represented the second of four while with the Bears followed by trips to Berlin 1991 where they played the San Francisco 49ers and then Dublin Ireland in 1998, where they played the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Ken has forged a number of corporate contacts abroad and established life-long friendships with whom he remains in close contact with at Volvo, Scandinavian Airlines, American Express and McDonalds, to name a few. Ken consulted with American Express for a promotion at Wimbledon‘s Center Court in 2006He is currently consulting with a group of individuals, including former NFL players and administrators who are looking to establish an American Football League in Europe combined with music, celebrities and entertainment.
